An average joe's 1CC of Touhou 12's normal mode with Sanae B, or in layman's terms... the one with all the exploding frogs. Now, is this shot, strictly speaking, all that effective? Kind of? It's the only shot I can beat UFO's extra mode on, in part because UFO's bosses are relatively simple (save Byakuren) while its stages, and the difficulties attaining resources with the UFOs during them, are what really gives the game its difficult. While many UFO shots like Reimu and Marisa A are notably strong against bosses, Sanae A & B alike are DOMINANT on stages, turning what can often be a frustrating slog into a silly explosionfest.

Sanae B in particular has a few things going for it compared to Sanae A. Firstly, exploding frogs are just more fun than homing snakes. Second of all, these spread shots explode, which is effectively the projectile equivalent of piercing. This means UFOs in clusters of enemies and a crystal summoning Nazrin can't hide any more. Thirdly, her bomb is absolutely amazing, acting as the Sanae equivalent of fantasy seal and master spark (in that it does tons of damage). It also has a long period of invincibility prior to the explosion, which can be used for repositioning or face-shooting. Its only real downside is the fact that for some reason, at 4 power, you do less point blank focused damage as 3 power due to the weird choice to have two frog launchers shoot obliquely on focus.

I still generally prefer Marisa B due to her higher skill expression, but there's a reason I've only beaten UFO's extra with Sanae B. It's a damn good shot. Oh, and a fun fact: I got over 200 million points this run, which means I'd have the points threshhold, but not the difficulty, to decrypt RENSENWARE.
