This Zoom M3 recording was made with the revised model following the withdrawal of the initial batch due to issues with RF breakthrough.
It's simply a recording I made walking round the house and into the garden. I decided that instead of showing the video of my private home, I would show analysis displays, which to me indicate that there's nothing untoward going on with this new model, even when examining noise down to -140dB.
The recording also gives in indication of how well it handles the dynamic range using 32 bit float, extending from a close recording of a spinning washing machine with a churning tumble dryer on top of it, and then out into a suburban garden on a quiet Saturday morning, and back.
I do hope to be able to upload something more entertaining before long! Is this the ultimate one piece recording device? It's certainly unique in couping an MS shotgun mic with a 32-bit float recorder. It doesn't have level controls or any display - not required. Just press record, and that's it.
