This was our 2nd day of our Andhra tour, In this series you will see Vizag, Araku, Lambasingi, Annavaram, Rajahmundry, Machlipatnam and Vijayawada.

This is a tour of 13 days, as we move forward you will see the destinations in the episodes to follow.

Best way to enjoy Araku hill tour is to travel from Vizag to Araku on the Vistadome coach, since we didn’t get the ticket, so we missed the opportunity.

We did this journey by road. We started the day by having breakfast at Vizag then we proceeded towards Borra caves, these caves are so huge that you will love to visit these, there after we went to see Katiki falls and ended the day at Araku.

Below are the activities done on this day.

RK Beach - We started the day from Ramakrishna Beach which is situated on the east coast of Bay of Bengal in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Tiffin Bandi (Isukathota) - It's about 5 km away from AR Beach. We had breakfast here. They serve unlimited tiffins for Rs 149.

Punyagiri Waterfall - It is about 55 km away from vizag. It is a small waterfall near Punyagiri Temple. Later on after visiting the falls, i realised we should have skipped it, by doing so we we would have saved time.,

Kasipatnam Siva Temple Tree - Kasipatnam is 65 km from Visakhapatnam on the way to Araku Valley. The tree temple is said to be 400 years old. It is the temple of Lord Shiva. This temple’s outer shell is covered by trees which makes the appearance of the temple different from others. We had to take a detour of 1 km to reach this temple, we went on wrong road, so ended up wasting time.

Naidu Hotel - We had lunch here, this was a random hotel, may be when you go there, you can try this one or other hotel opp to Naidu hotel.

Borra Caves - It is also called Borra Guhalu. It is one of the largest caves in the country and is home to million-year-old stalactite and stalagmite formations. These deposits have developed into interesting forms and structures inside the caves such as Shiva and Parvati, Mother and child, human brain, etc.

Katiki Waterfall - it is about 9 km away from Borra Caves. Personal vehicles can’t reach there so one needs to hire a jeep to reach there. This waterfall is one of the famous tourist destinations.

Jeep Ride charges Rs 250 per person. You get this jeep from village panchayat parking which is about 2 km from Borra caves.

We ended our day at Haritha Hill Resort (Araku). It comes under Andhra Pradesh Tourism.
