Daniel and I (Starr) Hiked with our Samoyed dog Aspen to a popular trail in the Babine Mountains Provincial Park. We hiked Silver king, which gets its name from the old silver mine that used to operate there. This trail is located just outside of Smithers, BC. The trail that leads up to the basin used to be a road for the mine. It's a gorgeous trail that was covered in wild flowers and had many little streams and creeks running along it. When you hike into the basin you are treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains. There is a large cabin there that people are able to spend the night in if they choose. It's a very nice log cabin with plenty of room inside. In the basin we stopped for some lunch next with a beautiful view of a waterfall. We then made our way up to the old mining equipment. There are a few old mining carts and some remnants that were left behind. It's very cool to see the history. We made our way up into the alpine up the highland pass. We saw beautiful blue alpine glacier fed lakes, many more mountains, and even some marmots! The marmots were whistling in the background as we made our way up. After enjoying the alpine for a bit we heading back down, enjoying being in the mountains while we could. Thank you for watching! We hope you liked this video of our hiking adventure.
