Utilising Hydrolastic suspension to combine comfort and cornering, transverse engine packaging for maximum interior space, gorgeous Pininfarina styling and every badge under the BMC umbrella to offer an affordable Austin or Morris, sporty MG, or upmarket Riley, Wolseley and Vanden Plas variants, the ADO16 proved an enormous success, quickly becoming Britain's best-selling car in the 1960s.
