On Saturday 24th February 2024, the Southern Downs Steam Railway operated their first tour to Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt for 2024.

As there is nowhere at Stanthorpe to turnaround, both locomotives were rostered on to haul the train. Unfortunately, the line from Stanthorpe to Wallangarra was hit badly by the October 31st 2023 bushfires which resulted in 4 bridges being completely destroyed. It's unknown when or if the bridges will be replaced and if we'll see a train roll into Wallangarra again.
