This is part of the Hook Mountain Yacht Club's moorings committee. We are pulling a
650 lb mooring which is, we discovered afterward, sunk up to the top fittings in mud. The engine sound you hear is a water pump. The team is injecting the high pressured water thru a long pipe positioned under the mooring to loosen the mud and break the suction under the mushroom. After about an hour and a half, little by little, the morning started to lift out of the mud. The HMYC is located south of Hook Mountain on the Hudson River in Nyack N.Y.
