At the start of the season every coach should have a team meeting with the parents. This applies to baseball teams and softball teams.

This gives you the coach a chance to explain you philosophy of coaching and training and how the season will go, assign all of the tasks that need to be done throughout the season, set the expectations for the parents and kids, and encourage them all to participate in fundraising.
