Accessing and reading your own child welfare records can play an important role for people in care and care leavers. Child welfare records can often provide answers, create chronology and help people develop a stronger sense of identity.

In this film, Line and Peer, talks about their experiences in accesing, reading and processing the contents of their child welfare records. The film is part of the project ”The right to your own history” which is a collaboration between The Danish Welfare Museum (Danmarks Forsorgsmuseum), University College Copenhagen (Københavns Professionshøjskole), The Danish National Archives (Rigsarkivet) and TABUKA - The Association of Children placed in care and care-leavers.

”The right to your own history” is financially supported through the Finance Act reserve in the fields of social, health and labor, as well as the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen Foundation and the Augustinus Foundation.
