It’s been a while my fellow RTS fans, but I finally have an update on Fragile Existence!

Its main developer has posted somewhat of a playthrough that shows how your fleet of spaceships enters a new solar system, the way individual ships explore each of the planets found there, and what can happen when you find survivors on one of those rocks.

But that is just one section of news, there is also new information on transportation of cargo between capital ships, how unit AI behaves, showcase of the simulation of projectiles on planets and the accompanying physics behind it, armor stats, how units can be disabled, as well as new regions of space outside planets atmospheres, better warp effects, and dynamic radio chatter between ships of the fleet which every Homeworld veteran will certainly appreciate.

Besides those other team members have been working on making the planets and moons feel more lived in, by adding structures and other evidence of human habitation. Music is another part of the game that has been worked on, and you can listen to the new main menu soundtrack during this video.

The developer’s update which I was most happy to see is about exploration of individual planets in solar systems and different points of interest, be they on stellar bodies or above them. Oh and I almost forgot, the tactical map display which reminds a bit of the one in Homeworld has also been improved to show more relevant info about the solar system you fleet is currently in.

Now before I go more in depth on these updates and content additions to Fragile Existence I want to explain it a bit more for those that haven't heard of this future indie gem before, and you can also watch my previous video on it linked here on the right and down in the description.

Fragile Existence is a very ambitious sci-fi space exploration and survival RTS project that started off completely indie but has since found an excellent publisher in Hooded Horse. Famous now for their great handling of both lone indie developers and their rough but usually amazing games like Manor Lords or Against the Storm to name but a few examples.

The main theme in this one is of survivors packed in a ragtag fleet of warships and transports carrying the only humans left after an alien armada destroyed Earth and its colonies. Those who watched the Battlestar Galactica TV show will basically get to play it out now in this game. But on top of the space combat candy, in Fragile Existence you will also be treated to dropping your constructors with supplies on terrestrial planets and building bases there. These will facilitate resupplying your starving fleet with fuel and raw materials. On top of that those ground bases will need defending and their surroundings explored inviting you to a lot of ground base gameplay as well.
