When a company recognises the strength that comes from diversity and welcomes people of different backgrounds, religions and abilities it's a good thing.

But is it enough?

I was really stopped in my tracks around some of the Paralympic conversations - it was highlighted that people's disabilities are becoming more accepted, yet there's a long way away to true equality. Not enough is done to ensure the same opportunity of entry to sport and training for disabled people as for able bodied people.

This got me thinking about conscious businesses that strive to encourage diversity in their workforce and inclusion in the company behaviours. How deeply do their practices go? Are they set up in such a way that they can hire and support a true variety of people?

If they're really a conscious business, these things should evolve as the company evolves.
