Few things can make the trout along the Scandinavian coasts as selective as when the large swarms of ragworms appear when the water get warmer after the cold winter. The abundance of food can make the trout super difficult, but not impossible to trick into taking the fly - but it requires a fly that in color and movement resembles the original. In this video, we have had the Danish fly tyer and fly fisherman Jesper Lindquist Andersen to demonstrate his take on an effective imitation of the ragworms. The combination of lightly weighted belly and a floating back part on the fly, makes the fly almost weight neutral and can be "parked" in the water, something that can entice even the most skeptical trout to take the fly.
