Hey y’all,
In this video I take y’all on a walk with me as I make my way to my therapy appointment. I know that there are those who watch me because they can relate; like me they’re living with a mental illness (social anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, add, ptsd, etc). I want to show that you shouldn’t let anything stop you from getting the help you need and that it’s ok to say I need help! Societal views on mental illness seriously need to change and people need to recognize it’s not something you can catch, it has to do mainly with genetics. Also, people need to have more compassion in their hearts and truly treat others with the respect and decency they themselves would want. It’s not ok nor is it funny to laugh at someone’s struggles. It’s really bothersome that people continue to make fun of people who are brave enough to share what they’re going through...an example of this is some of the negative feedback Summer Walker continues to receive. The world needs to become better educated about what a mental illness is and as I stated previously some people who are sitting back and laughing at others may actually have a mental illness according to what constitutes a form of mental illness. Bottom line is I’m inviting y’all into this aspect of my life because my goal is to be as candid as I can be. I want to show that if you have a documented mental illness you’re not alone in this big big world. I hope to empower and encourage others...you don’t have to broadcast your life on social media as I’ve elected to do, but know you can do it!
