Everyone struggles with melodies, right? They're one of the most important components of any track, so it's important to make them memorable and interesting. With a few tricks up your sleeve, you can write better melodies easily.

In this video, we will explore how to write interesting and evolving melodies by using techniques such as repetition, call and response, and variation by breaking down my upcoming track 'Dawn' - a track that has a seemingly complicated and interesting melody, which when broken down isn't so hard to comprehend after all.

Repetition involves repeating a melodic idea or phrase, which can help to establish a memorable hook and create a sense of unity in a piece of music.

Call and response involves presenting a melodic idea and then following it with a contrasting idea, which can add interest and variety to a melody. Variation involves altering or embellishing a melodic idea in some way, such as by changing the rhythm or adding ornamentation.

By using these techniques in combination, you can create melodies that are engaging, dynamic, and full of life.

So, watch this video to learn more about how to use repetition, call and response, and variation to write interesting and evolving melodies.
