"A Place called Home" is a short prize-winning documentary film made during Spring 2012 by Oxford Brookes University Media Studies student Rory Ford.

Made in collaboration with the members and staff of The Porch Steppin' Stone homeless day-centre in East Oxford, the film explores the reasons people become homeless and how this can have a major impact on their lives.

In the role of film Producer/Director, cameraman, interviewer and narrator, Rory examines how the support given to members at the Steppin' Stone Centre can improve their well-being and help them to address the problems that may have resulted in their homelessness.

"an amateur documentary following my journey working as a volunteer over several months at a homeless centre. The documentary is an educational piece geared to raise awareness to the causes of homelessness and, more importantly, what projects the centre runs in order to rehabilitate, challenge and house individuals"
