Hi there and welcome to this video where I am painting a monochrome study of a barn window using Egg Tempera paints. I also introduce some silverpoint drawing later in the study.

This was great fun and I learnt so much about how the paint handles. I will certainly do more egg tempera work as I absolutely loved creating the different layers of paint and using the lifting off techniques.

I used Sennelier egg tempera black and white paint in tubes.
My paper was Arches hot pressed that was glued to plywood and gessoed with my homemade recipe.
Metalpoint was a 'Zecchi : Lead-Tin Stylus for Drawing : 8mm diameter'
I also used a genuine Zecchi 2mm silverpoint for some smaller details which wasn't included in the video.
