CEO Casey Castillo met with KUSI’s Ed Lenderman to discuss an exciting chapter at the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank — the integration of the North County Food Bank facility into our regional network of services, as well as the unveiling of a refreshed logo.

Last year, the San Diego Food Bank distributed a staggering 11.7 million pounds of food to neighbors in North County through both of our Food Bank facilities, compared with only 3.4 million pounds in 2015 when we assumed operations of the North County Food Bank. Despite this work, there is still a growing food insecurity challenge facing the San Diego region, and more specifically, our northernmost cities, that we must do more to address.

This integration, which includes a modernized logo, as well as a unified name and website encompassing both San Diego and North County facilities, will make it easier for community members to access vital hunger-relief resources, reducing confusion and expanding our overall impact. The Food Bank will continue to fulfill the same great mission, with a reinforced commitment to our northernmost neighbors.
