After setting off on a tour of South Australia, my first port of call was Hindmarsh Island to visit friends Dirk and Judy, as I really wanted to check out their restored 1953 Morris Minor utility. It was back in 2015 that I first met Dirk, as we set out on the 100th anniversary cruise to the Gallipoli peninsula ANZAC day memorial service. While aboard, Dirk and I became good mates and I heard a lot about the Morris. What I didn't know was that it took over 22 years to restore - a labour of love as this was the model Dirk first took his wife Judy out in back in the day.

Dirk even took me for a road-trip around a part of Hindmarsh Island in the Morris, to the mouth of the mighty Murray river. Apologies for the poor audio quality of the GoPro - I am saving for a microphone adaptor which should fix things, but for this video I had to make do with the internal mic. It is audible but you may need to tweak the speakers a bit to hear the conversation.

Both myself and Johanna would like to thank Dirk and Judy for the kind hospitality and making us feel so very welcome in their beautiful beachfront home on secluded Hindmarsh Island.
