This is a 100% vinyl mix I put together for the Concrete Folk Tape Takeover on Noods Radio that was broadcast on 29th September 2024. I was asked to produce a 60 minute mix tape which I decided to focus on music from Bristol, where Noods is based. Side A of the tape covers reggae, dub and post-punk from the late 70's and early 80s and then side B moves onto trip hop and other experimental dubwise sounds from the 90's to the present day.

I really enjoyed putting this one together and it’s quite a personal mix as although I’m not a Bristolian I listened to a lot of music that came out of the city in the 90’s and it played a major part in getting me into dub and reggae. My aim with the mix was to include some of my favourites from that era and also connect them with what went on before in terms of reggae and post-punk and also link it to some of the more contemporary sounds emanating from the city at the moment.

Tracklist:

Side A
3-D Production - “Riot”
Animal Magic - “Get It Right”
Mouth – "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea”
The Pop Group - "3:38" (Dennis Bovell Dub)
Restriction – "Action / Four Point Plan"
