POLITICIANS' GRILL WITH BURGARD: Sahra Wagenknecht - Mannheim attacker is not an isolated case

BSW chairwoman Sahra Wagenknecht considers it scandalous that the Mannheim attacker, who came from Afghanistan, was able to live in Germany at state expense for a decade after his asylum application was rejected in 2014. Wagenknecht said in the new episode of the format "Politicians' Grill with Jan Philipp Burgard," which can be seen on WELT TV this Thursday at 8:15 p.m.: "I find it scandalous that someone who has no protection status, no right to asylum, stays in our country for over ten years." Referring to social benefits for the Afghan, Wagenknecht continued: "We basically financed his radicalization. He lived off us, off the money of the citizens."

Someone who is not entitled to asylum should "no longer have a residence status in our country and no longer have a right to social benefits." And further: "At the moment, everyone who can even halfway say the word asylum comes to Germany, and almost all of them stay here." The founder of the alliance, Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), also has no understanding of why the attacker has not been deported to Afghanistan long ago: "Nobody can explain to me why they couldn't have deported him to Afghanistan." As an Islamist, he would certainly not have been persecuted by the Taliban.

The Mannheim attacker is not an isolated case. "Young girls have already been stabbed to death on a regional express train," there are "repeated deaths" and "an increasing number of rapes." After such acts, politicians' statements repeatedly speak of zero tolerance and criminal law. Wagenknecht: "And after that, everything will carry on as before."

Wagenknecht saw the fact that more than half of the violent crimes last year were committed by non-German perpetrators as evidence "that we cannot continue with this uncontrolled migration." The federal government always acts as if it is powerless. Wagenknecht continued: "But we are now the only country in Europe where the numbers are still rising so much. Most countries have falling numbers because they have regulated things differently. Above all because they also set the incentives differently." The fact that the government is not moving on this issue is massively upsetting people.
