Indigenous communities are on the frontlines of addressing the climate crisis. As they navigate and adapt to the increasing impacts of climate change, they not only serve as examples of resilience but also as crucial advocates for urgent climate action. Through discussion with Indigenous leaders from Gwich’in, Saami, and Swinomish tribes we will delve into the intricate ways in which these communities are affected by climate change and highlight their potential to spearhead equitable solutions.
This session underscores the imperative of fostering a deeper understanding and amplifying the leadership of Indigenous peoples in shaping a sustainable future.
