Kumartuli or Kumortuli is one of the best potter quarter inside Kolkata also inside India.Every years I comes here to visit Durga idol making .Yesterday I went to Kumartuli to see the making of Durga Idols.All junior or seniors artists,Idol makers or "mritshilpi" working to make Durga Idol,their family members also engaged to help other decoration making job of idol.
Durgapuja is main biggest festival in West Bengal specially in Kolkata.Now Durgapuja is not far away, 2nd Oct 2024 is Mahalaya, starting "Devipaksha".People are buying their new garments for Puja .
Here many Durga idol are not completed .Big Durga idol are good but many small Durga idols are more attractive than big Durga idol .
Durga puja just coming soon , Kumartuli's artists or Durga idol makers are busy but more busy season for photoshoot lover,vlogger and youtubers.Lot of young women or men comes in weekend for photo season with their expensive camera also with beautifull sari and punjabi and make up.
Here Kumortuli Park is one of the famous Puja in North Kolkata,pandal making going on but photoshoot or videography not allow so I could not capture Kumartuli Park pandal details(it was not may main purpose)
