Payment for Ecosystem Services is a new economic and practical approach to environment protection. It's based on the recognition that forests and other ecosystems provide us ALL with services that are essential; and the recognition that the role of those groups of people that live and work around these ecosystems is crucial in the maintenance of the health of these places and it should be recognized, protected, regulated and rewarded.
