Lighting makes a patio so cozy and so stylish. In this video I take a box of patio lights from a big box store and make adorable patio lamps.

I create lamps with candlestick holders and a lantern from a dollar store dowel pack. You don't need woodworking skills or a fancy shop to make these lights yourself. And the projects are versatile; you can use so many different items for the base of the lamp. For the lantern, you can make so many different patterns and designs. My style is pretty simple, so I kept it to straight lines.

The candlestick lamp is a project you can do with children. And a teen could do it on their own. It's a great summer project when they start complaining that they're bored! If you don't have spray paint, just use a paint brush.

The lights cast a really nice pattern when they turn on at night. It warms up the look of your patio with out you have to turn anything on. It's a project that keeps on working after your part is done!
