and Welcome to a Ghavane Special Episode of ‪@RedSoilStories‬
Pooja and Mai (aunty) were working in our paddy field ( rice field ), Mai asked about Pooja's mother-in-law. Pooja said that her mother-in-law is coming later in the evening to her house, Mai also asked about what Pooja is cooking for her mother-in-law. Pooja told her that she is making Traditional Ghavane ( Rice pancakes ) as her mother-in-law likes it.
Next day in the morning Pooja was preparing tea while my mom ( Pooja's mother-in-law ) asked her about what she is cooking for breakfast. Pooja told that she is making Ghavne, but mom asked her that she will make "Goad Ghavane" and that too "Saat Kapyache Ghavane" ( Seven Layered Sweet Rice Pancakes ).
"Saat Kaapyache Ghavane" is a traditional but rarely made recipe, moderately difficult but very flavorful. All you need is rice flour ( Rice washed, dried and then ground ), coconut, Jaggery, salt, water etc.
Meanwhile, Raja was upset with Pooja making ghavane and he jumped on the roof to blackmail Pooja as he wanted to eat fish but Pooja was making Ghavne. He was not ready to come down until Pooja agreed to give him fish.
My mother started preparing Ghavne and Pooja prepared Coconut chutney, after mom finished preparing plain Ghavane ( Rice pancakes ), she started preparing "Saat kaapyache ghavane" also known as "Goad ghavne".
After ghavane, goad ghavane and Coconut chutney was ready we enjoyed it together for the breakfast.
