LIVE: China is 'Fully Confident' of Achieving 2024 Growth Targets: Key Economic Official

The National Development and Reform Commission on Tuesday held a press briefing to announce package to improve the economic growth of China. NDRC stated in the briefing that the country is fully confident of achieving its economic targets for the year.

The officials said in the briefing that China's economy remains largely stable but is facing more complex internal and external environments. "The downward pressures on China's economy is also increasing with some industries seeing rat-race competition," said Zheng Shanjie, NDRC Chairman.

China is planning to issue 100 billion yuan ($14.12 billion) from next year's central government budget to support local governments. The officials also mentioned that the country is currently focusing on quickening fiscal spending and strengthening macroeconomic policies.
