I was commissioned to build some bunk beds for Peach Creek Ranch, a wedding and event venue in the Brazos Valley. I knew as soon as I got the call that I would be using Jay Bates bunk bed design.

I modified the plans to suit the space, combine two separate bunk beds in to one "L" shaped unit, and take advantage of the 9ft ceilings.

Other modifications include: Adding a panel between the rails and building a ladder to access the top bunks.

Jay's plans are extremely well put together. I could have come up with my own design just from watching his video, but the time I saved more than made up for the small price of the plans. They come with one of the best cut lists I've ever used, full material/shopping list, and instructions. That saved me, at least, a full day of work.
