In Banda Aceh, where the big majority is Muslim, they have the Sharia Law. That means, there's a religious police who checks if you behave properly according to the koran or not. Alcohol and gambling is forbidden. Also hugging or holding hands is prohibited if you're not married. If you get caught, you can be flogged dozens of times in public and everyone around you will film you with their smartphones and upload somewhere in the internet. If you have an unmarried sexual relationship they will whip you in public. No need to deny, these are just the facts.
But I didn't want to focus on the things above. Instead I wanted to visit Banda Aceh without having any prejudices.
