Born on the 22nd of July 1950 in Lapu Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. he began singing at the age of 16, supporting the likes of Tina Turner and Count Basie at the Clark Air Force base, entertaining American troops Sam moved to Hong Kong in the early seventies and started a career in the film industry he made seven films in total all based on martial arts , Sam was already a Sixth Dan in Korean martial arts. Sam was also Mr Hong Kong body builder for two consecutive years, in the mid seventies having heard Sam's uncanny resemblance to Tom Jones, EMI records produced an album Sam Sorono sings Tom Jones greatest hits. Sam moved to England in 1983 where he won his heat in the tv program, Stars in Their eyes as Tom Jones a fantastic talent and a nice person, Sam will be missed by all his family, friends and everyone who loved his amazing voice.
