It has been waaaaaayyyyy to long since Montreal saw a 747 last, I am so happy to see Lufthansa queen of the skies here even if it is only for 2 flights.

The Boeing 747 use to be a very common aircraft in Montreal (YUL) but sadly many airlines have been retiring the type over the years and what was once a common sight has now become quite rare.
This is the last scheduled 747 flight Montreal got was a one off Corsair upgrade back in 2019.
With Lufthansa planning to retire the the type by 2028, who knows when or if YUL will see the Queen of the skies again...

Lufthansa operates the Frankfurt - Montreal daily in the summer months with the Boeing 787 however the reason for this upgrade has to do with cruise ship in our port that brings mainly German tourist around southern Canada.
In the past the cruise chartered airlines like Air Berlin or Condor to operate the flight but this year they chartered Lufthansa which upgraded the normal 787 flight to the 747-400 for 2 days.
