It was an incredible day filled with unexpected surprises. My friend surprised me with a very rare Yowah nut split pair, knowing that I have a passion for opals. He had a fascinating story to tell about how he came across them and wanted me to do something special with the rough opal.

I eagerly took on the challenge and began cutting and shaping the opals, using a few tips and tricks that I had learned over the years to improve my cutting techniques. It was a labor of love, but the end result was absolutely stunning.

But the surprises didn't end there. Later that night, we were both shocked by a once-in-a-lifetime event that we never saw coming.
