Fundraising goal: $5,000

For this 1 Day SMC, the Museum of Art seeks $5,000 to support the exhibition display. Display provides a pivotal entry point for visitors to understand and learn about objects. As a museum, we are charged with presenting objects to the public and ensuring the safety of these objects. Sometimes, these two charges can come at odds with one another. Often visitors see artwork hung on walls, sculptures placed on pedestals, and digital art played through projectors. Each display is carefully installed with unique needs, balancing accessibility and preservation of the objects. For archival materials, objects need controlled spaces that visitors can easily view and read. The museum plans to build (in-house) two display cases to highlight related archival materials in the fall 2023 exhibitions. Expenses for materials can be pricey, and we need your help.
