One day while perusing CL I saw an ad in the artists section that caught my attention. It was posted by CMU CFA students as part of a class assignment. Basically, they were looking for a typical Pittsburgher and what their opinion of CMU students is. So I contacted them, we met on campus, there were maybe 5 of them, and I came up with my idea inside of 5 minutes. The criteria was anyhow open-ended, no limits on the kind of media to be utilized.
I told them I would send them them a list of questions that they would ask student volunteers, and to have them record their answers on video. They were to be shot against a green screen and have the subjects don green material on their person so that I could mask everything except their faces in post. The students uploaded the raw footage, I did my thing with it, and uploaded the final results on Google Drive for them. This video and the rest in the series is basically my reaction to their responses/answers.
Needless to say, I am NOT a typical Pittsburgher, but the project was anyhow successful, according to my contact following the presentation, which I was not invited to.
