The chair I built in this video is not difficult to build. No special tools required, just a little proper planning.
I used one 1x3-8' and one 2x2-8' for the chair. A scrap piece of 1x16 was used for the seat. You can also use 1x3's for the seat. I finished the chair off with several coats of Lacquer.

Below is a cut list of the materials.
Four 1x3 - 9 1/2" (Front, back aprons & back rest)
Two 1x3 - 11 3/4" ( Side aprons)
Two 2x2 - 12 1/2" (Front legs)
Two 2x2 - 24 1/2" (Back legs)
Seat 1x16 cut down to 12 1/2" x 13 1/2"
