I recently visited Palna dam which is beautiful place around 40 km from Jamshedpur. This is a short video of Palna dam showcasing its natural beauty.

Location of Palna Dam:
Near Chouka, off the Tata-Ranchi NH33.

Best time to visit:
Picnic season
Very less visitors in other time of the year
Lots of families visit in picnic season

Distance From:
Jamsedpur around 40 km
Ranchi around 90 km
Chandil around 20 km

Basic Amenities Palna:
Ample parking spaces
Access road is good, is through a village and has lots of bumps.
Peaceful and helpful villagers
Lots of families visit in picnic season
No toilet facilities
No food stalls (have to carry food and water)
Dirt road to reach the far side of the dam (more picturesque).

Good place for photography
Nice place for travellers, wanderers

To summarise, Palna dam is a very beautiful and peaceful place for picnics, for hanging out with friends and family, joy for photographers and travellers.
