If your land cruiser wont start one of the first things you want to check is your fusible link.
This here
1. How to Identify if it is a fusible link issue what are the signs that it could be the fusible link.

2. Im going show you exactly how to replace it and do it safely.

Along the way I will be sharing some tips for the repair along with how to fix this issue incase you are ever out on the trail or away from home.

First lets figure out if you have a bad Fusible Link

When you try to start your engine you will just hear a click (starter) and you wont hear your engine actually turn over.

Ill show you a video of what that looks like.

Notice how the LC just clicked and didn't start to turn over, this is a good indicator of a bad fusible link.

Visually inspection.

One way to check is to wiggle your wires to see if it starts or look for visible damage like exposed wires. that could be a sign of a bad fusible link.

The fusible link is a fuse; is a wire or set of wires that is thinner than the rest of the main wires in the harness. It acts as a fuse. It's purpose is to melt (just like a normal fuse) when the electrical current flowing through it exceeds it's ratings. It's rating is designed so that it burns up before the wiring harness does; protecting the wiring harness in case a short develops. It's made to fail, its the weakest link.

Notice how this wire is thinner than this other one? that is done on purpose so it burns before your entire vehicle does, its also made with a really thick insulator to prevent it from catching on fire.

Lets get into the repair:

You will need a Junction box and a fusible link 90% of the time the Junction box will break as soon as you open it so it best to order a replacement.

1. Disconnect the Negative battery terminal. (always disconnect the negative
2. Remove the bolt that connects the fusible link, mine was really hard to remove with a regular wrench so I had to whip out the breaker bar.
3.Lets connect the replacement fusible link but dont tighten it all the way yet
once thats in place we can swap out the junction box this opens right up
swap each cable one by one
tighten all the bolts
Connect the negative battery cable and you are good to go!

One tip I did want to mention is if you're ever on a trip away from home or you're on a trail and you identify that one of your fusible links has been damaged then what you can do is jump the cable temporarily, although its not recommended it can be done just to get you back home or to the nearest auto shop.
