Conductor: Andrew Greenwood

Ramon Remedios Samson
Phyllis Cannan Delila
Other soloists

Michael Deady

This recording of Ramon Remedios singing Samson shows how successful a lyric tenor with intelligence, musicality and a rock-solid technique can be in a role normally associated with heroic tenors. Most of Ramon’s roles were more lyric, apart from Samson, which he sang only twice, and Radames. Unfortunately, the sound quality is not great, though Ramon and the excellent Phyllis Cannan come through strongly. The choice of excerpts is somewhat arbitrary, but imo the singing is most impressive.
