McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris delighted the home crowd by being quickest on both light fuel and heavy on Silverstone Friday. His team-mate, Oscar Piastri, underlined the pace of the orange cars, with the Red Bull-Hondas of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez a shade away - particularly on the long runs. Mercedes and Ferrari seem to be closely-matched, and there could well be starring support roles from Haas and Aston Martin.
