The 305 and 350 Chevrolet TPI engines in 1985 to 1989 used an EGR thermal sensor for the OBD diagnostics of the EGR system. This sensor threads in to the base of the EGR valve on these cars. If the sensor fails, it will usually result in a Code 32 for EGR system failure. That sensor, like many other parts is discontinued. Reproductions have been made for the 1986 to 1989 Corvettes that have a much shorter wire because they were no longer mounted on the EGR valve, but rather on a separate EGR pipe. This sensor will work if an extension harness is made to account for the shorter wire. I'll show you what I used to make the extension harness. If you have a Camaro, Firebird, or even the 1985 Corvette, this is the solution that will work using the later design sensor. I have been running this for several years now and it works great.
