Take a ride, in real-time, on Calgary Transit's Red Line CTrain from Tuscany to Somerset-Bridlewood.

Calgary Transit's Red Line CTrain - also known as Calgary Transit Route 201 - currently runs a total length of 35km crossing the Calgary metropolitan area in a generally north-south orientation while connecting with and sharing a portion of the Blue Line CTrain through Downtown Calgary on the 7th Avenue transit mall.

The Red Line opened in two main segments with mainly incremental extensions thereafter. The south section of the line originally opened from Downtown Calgary to Anderson Station on May 25, 1981, and the northeast section of the line from Downtown Calgary to University Station opened on September 17, 1987, in time for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games.

Calgary Transit has long-term plans to extend the Red Line further south from Somerset-Bridlewood to 210 Avenue South. An additional infill station between Dalhousie and Brentwood - called Northland - has also been proposed.

All footage captured in this video was recorded on October 10, 2023. All filming was completed under authorization from Calgary Transit and Calgary Economic Development and under supervision from Calgary Transit staff.
