After riding with Alex from the Single Track Sampler I decided to follow his lead and change things up a bit and step away from 100% GoPro footage on my videos. I've watched many of his videos and had always recognized a certain quality to some of his shots that I just was not getting. I was not sure what he was using, but I figured in my mind that he had some high dollar camera system and maybe even a full time videographer. It turns out that he uses multiple cameras and while at lunch I couldn't help but notice that he was filming with a camera that looked so familiar to me I had to ask what it was. It was the Sony RX100, the very camera I had purchased used just about a year ago but never really used. I figured if it was good enough for Alex then perhaps it would be good enough for me. So today I dusted it off and took it out for a test run. Now to be clear ,Im no camera expert and certinaly not a videographer, but I know what I like on the screen when I see it and my hope is to eventually consistently create the shots I see in my head and translate them to film.. thanks for sharing the journey with me. the trail I filmed to day is Dino Cliffs in Washington Utah.
