Winter is just around the corner, and I'm getting my greenhouses ready for the heavy snow ahead!

In this video, I walk you through how I reinforced the roofs of my greenhouses to prevent any damage from the weight of the snow.

Polycarbonate roofs can be vulnerable in harsh winter conditions, so I added an internal wooden frame for extra support and covered the entire structure with a tarp for additional protection. I repeated the same process with the second greenhouse, ensuring both are ready to withstand the winter's challenges.

Here’s a breakdown of what I did:

Installing a Wooden Frame: I added a sturdy wooden frame inside the greenhouse to give the polycarbonate roof extra support and reduce the risk of it cracking under the weight of snow.

Tarp Cover: Outside, I covered the greenhouses with a durable tarp to provide another layer of protection against snow and ice buildup.

Double Greenhouse Protection: Both of my greenhouses received the same treatment to keep them safe and insulated through the winter months.

Why it's important: Polycarbonate roofing is strong but can sometimes fail under the pressure of heavy snow. By adding this extra support, I’m making sure my greenhouses stay intact and functional even in the toughest conditions.

If you're preparing your greenhouses for winter, hopefully, this can give you some tips and inspiration!
