Alright, folks, our beloved Brandon Aiyuk, star wide receiver for the 49ers, is going through a tough time. He has made it clear that he's not happy with the negotiations for his new long-term contract. Aiyuk wants to stay with the team that drafted him in the first round in 2020, but both sides are struggling to agree on how much he should earn.

The negotiation was almost complete, but everything changed when the wide receiver market exploded. This explosion has boosted Brandon’s bargaining power, which directly affects us, considering that quarterback Brock Purdy will become the team's highest-paid player next year, significantly impacting our salary cap flexibility.

Aiyuk was not pleased to see the discussions go public. On "The Pivot" podcast, he mentioned his efforts to keep the negotiations private, but when the details were leaked, he felt that the team was not equally committed to confidentiality. On the other hand, as you’ve seen here, he’s posted subtle hints directed at the coordinators. This strategy helped him secure the latest proposal, which offers an average of $26 million per year, much more than the $14.124 million he's set to earn in 2024, but still below what he believes he's worth. He feels frustrated and disrespected that these figures were leaked.

I believe this prolonged bargaining is wearing both sides out. If he leaves, it will be a significant loss, but no player is above the institution because football is a team sport. What do you think about the duration of this negotiation?
