J.J. "Slide Away" 1990

Back to the 1990s for the first ever promo video from Salford/Manchester band J.J for their second single "Slide Away". This was their first single for the CBS label after a debut single "If I Never See Sunday" was released on an independent label and caught the attention of CBS/Sony. The single and parent album, "Intro..." were both commercial flops but wonderful singer/songwriter pop efforts. J.J. comprised two members who wrote & performed the songs... Tony Kirkham and Jan Johnston.

Jan Johnston went on to be a solo artist with two solo albums (one unreleased) a handful of hits and cracking collaborations with Brian Transeau amongst others, but ultimately ended up with a career performing featuring vocals on endless trance/dance singles. www.janjohnston.com
