We ended up pouring this garage floor about a foot thick because the excavation contractor didn't grade the sub-grade to the right level.
The general contractor didn't check his work before the heating contractor installed the styrofoam and radiant heat so there was no way to re-grade the floor without tearing out all the styro and heating tubes.
The GC decided to just pour the concrete extra thick so that's what we did.
There was also an issue with the slope being excessive, 6 inches from back to front in 27 feet.
After talking with the home owner we changed the slope to 3 inches. See if pouring 12 inches of concrete is easier than 5 inches.
