Sharmin Segal has been the point of discussion ever since Heeramandi dropped on Netflix last month. From criticism over her performance as Alamzeb to brutal online trolling for some of her statements made in promotional interviews, Sharmin has been at the receiving end of a lot of hatred. While she has remained quiet for the longest time, in this rather honest one-on-one with Nayandeep Rakshit on Galatta India, Sharmin opened up about the comments, constructive criticism and the labels attached to her of being a 'rude', 'brash', 'arrogant' and 'disrespectful' human being. She also takes the questions on her comments made on Aditi Rao Hydari and Sanjeeda Sheikh head on, explaining her standpoint on the same. The Malaal actress reveals the 'schoolgirl' comment on Aditi was a part of a roast and expresses how she maintains mutual respect for all her co-stars including Aditi, Sanjeeda. She also thanked Richa Chadda for supporting her and explaining how interviews were taken 'out of context' but she also says she's disappointed that no media outlet was ready to highlight that, leading to cause even more online hatred for her. Along with this, Sharmin shares how her family has stood by her and also justifies the statement she made on Meena Kumari looking into Nothingness in Pakeezah and reveals that it was completely misconstrued and twisted by a section of the media.
