The Jewish greeting called Havenu Shalom Aleichem is a greeting that has existed since the 16th or 17th century and is based on the teachings of the Talmud. Shalomm Aleichem or Sholom Aleichem is a Hebrew greeting that means Peace be upon you.
Shalom aleichem (or sholom aleichem) (Hebrew שלום עליכם shālôm ʻalêḵem; Yiddish שלום-עליכם şolem aleyxem) is a Hebrew greeting, meaning “Peace be with you”. The correct answer is “Aleichem shalom”.

This form of greeting is common in the Middle East. The Arabic version is assalamu alaikum. This greeting is done in the plural - so it is used to greet many people - even if it is used for just one person. A religious explanation for this is that people greet both body and soul.

Shalom Aleichem is also an alternative spelling for the pseudonym of the Yiddish writer Sholom Aleichem.

Shalom Aleichem is also commonly used by Middle Eastern Orthodox Christians, especially communities in Israel, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco and Russia, and even around the world. This greeting is also used as a greeting when worshiping, starting a sermon and greeting colleagues and others.

Shalom can also be translated as “Peace”: a personally felt peace, a deep mental calm and balance, which is felt as a gift to those of us who value God.
It is also a traditional song sung on Friday evenings at the beginning of the Sabbath, the Jewish Sabbath. In this case, the words are meant to welcome the angels. It can be sung with at least four melodies, but is always performed with great joy.

Its first stanza in Hebrew is transliterated as follows:

Shalom aleichem malachei ha-shareis malachei elyon, mi-melech malchei ha-melachim Ha-Kadosh Baruch Hu.

The meaning of the words of this chant is:

Peace be with you, O ministering angels, messengers of the Most High, of the King of Kings, the One and Holy, blessed be He.

Come in peace, messengers of peace, messengers of the Most High,
from the King of Kings, the One and Holy, blessed be He.

Bless me with peace, messengers of peace, messengers of the Most High,
from the King of Kings, the One and Holy, blessed be He.

May your departure be in peace, messengers of peace, messengers of the Most High, from the King of Kings, the One and Holy, blessed be He.

“Lord, You Are Our Shepherd” is a popular hymn among Protestant churches that appears in the Christian hymnbook “Song of Songs” No. 407 translated by Yamuger in 1978, and also in the book “Praise and Thanksgiving” No. 542. This song is often sung in Christian services as a song of worship that describes how God is a good shepherd who always nurtures, guides, and protects His people from all obstacles and challenges of life like a sheep that is guarded and guided by its shepherd. It was first published in 1979 in the hymn collection “Hymns for the Young”, which included “Saviour, Like a Shepherd Lead Us” written by Dorothy Thrupp.

Lord Jesus, Savior, we are yours.

2. You are the faithful Watcher, the closest friend of life.
Keep us from sin, call home the lost.
Lord Jesus, Savior, we ask for your blessing.
Lord Jesus, Savior, we beg you, blessings.
Mt 18:12-14; Lk 19:10
3. Your promise, you accept us, though we are blameless;
You sanctify the sinner, You deliver the weak.
Lord Jesus, Savior, now we surrender.
Lord Jesus, Savior, now we surrender.
4. Your will we seek, we want to follow your purpose.
Lord, fill our hearts with your full love.
Lord Jesus, Savior, your love is infinite.
Lord Jesus, Savior, your love is infinite.
Eph 5:17; Col 1:9

May this song be a blessing and inspiration to all our faithful friends.
God bless.
