The Sleeping man tells the player how many battles they have fought. If the last two digits of the number of battles the player has fought match, the man will relinquish an item. If the numbers are odd he gives out the Mythril, and if the last two numbers are even he will give a Bolt Ring.

You need to have Aeris learn her last Limit Break Great Gospel before you enter the Temple of the Ancients.
