Automated can crusher, built using all scavenged and repurposed parts, except for the wire terminals and a couple microswitches. The lcd display, electronic components, and case are salvaged or recovered and repurposed from unrelated machinery, and even the Raspberry Pi is being reused from a previous project!

Controller is a Raspberry Pi 4.
Crusher is a salvaged 12V linear actuator generating 1000N of force at peak.
A pair of optocoupler relays form an H-bridge switch to allow the Pi to control the higher voltage and amps.
All sensing is done with microswitches.
Programming done with python3, using gpiozero libraries.
Code can be seen here: https://github.com/aco319sig/Crusher

This took a lot of finnicky drilling and adjustment to get to work smoothly.
