In the late Cretaceous period, Europe was home to a truly unique collection of dinosaurs. In France, the lush environment played host to some of the most spectacular animals that ever lived, from the bizarre armored Ampelosaurus to the fearsome Tarascosaurus. But, on the islands that would become modern Romania, a completely different cast of creatures made their homes. And the unique stresses of island life resulted in some surprising adaptations.
